Ecco una breve spiegazione in inglese sul Tag Rugby, usato come mezzo di propaganda e di crescita per i ragazzi a cominciare dall'under 7 e come mezzo di sviluppo per tutte le squadre della Gran Bretagna.

Tag Rugby is the only type of Rugby allowed in Junior schools in the Unitled Kingdom.

It is also the only type of Rugby allowed at age Under 7 and Under 8 in England in clubs.

Contact Rugby is introduced at Under 9 level, but Tag continues between clubs until after Christmas. This is to give clubs time to teach the 7 elements of contact Rugby Tackle from front; side and rear; ruck; maul; scrum; lineout), and allow children to become confident in their abilities. After Christmas the inter-club matches can contain contact at Under 9 level. This is RFU rules.

Tag Rugby is actively promoted by the English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh Unions as an integral part of development. It is not considered a ‘Stand alone’ activity, but instead is a development tool.

The senior squad of Gloucester RUFC have one session of Tag Rugby every week.

In Ireland for example, Tag Rugby is the biggest growing sport, with an ‘All Ireland’ national competition.
